Steamboat Springs & Goblin Valley

We spent a few days in Steamboat Springs, Colorado visiting our granddaughters (Alexa & Haley) and their wonderful parents (Dan & Jill). The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) had their 2015/2016 Awards Ceremony the night that we arrived so we attended with the family. We saw several outstanding athletes and their coaches receive recognition for their hard work and dedication to their chosen discipline and to the success of the SSWSC. The best part of the awards was they weren't being recognized for winning. Always smiling and trying was recognized. Teaching the kids to support their friends and be happy for them too is important.

Our granddaughter, Alexa, was presented with the Bea Kirby Award which is given to the most improved female Nordic Jumper. We are so proud of her commitment to a sport that she has come to love.

The Steambaot area got several inches of snow on Friday. We were all happy to be heading to Utah for Spring Break and warmer weather. The next day we drove to Goblin Valley State Park. It's south of the town of Green River in the middle of nowhere. The perfect place to get away from it all. Our group included three other families - the Roses (Frank, Heather, Ava & Brynn), the Ayads (Sasha, Ann, Emmie & Anabel) and the Skinners (Erik, Heather, Brodie & Quinn).
